is expected to be on the night of Wednesday, April 8, 2020 in Pakistan. However, exact date is subject to sighting of moon of Shaban, 1441. Ramadan 2020 is expected to start on Thursday evening, April 23, 2020 (according to Saudi Arabia) and will end on Saturday, May 23, 2020. Eid-al-Fitr 2020 is expected to be celebrated on Sunday, May 24, 2020. The date is set as the day the actual launch of Ramadan 2020 in Pakistan is under the moonlight.

WHAT IS SHAB-E-BARAT:

Shab e Barat is an important night on the Islamic calendar and is celebrated in the middle of Shaban (between 14 and 15 nights). This is the reason why he is called Nisf Shaban (نصف شعبان). This blessed night begins at sundown on Shaban and ends at dawn on the 15th of Shaban.Different countries have different ways of celebrating this day and each has its own unique names. List Shaban (نصف شعبان) is known as Shab e Barat or Shabe Barat (شب برات) in South Asia, especially in Sub-Continental, Lailatul Barat (ليلة البراءة) in Arabic, Nisfu Syaban (Malam Nisfu Syaban) in Indonesia and Malaysia and Berat Kandili Turkey.

THE MONTH OF SABAN:

Shaban is the 8th month of the Islamic Calendar. It is a month of blessings and you ask Allah for forgiveness. This is also evident in the following Hadiths about this blessed month:

Aishah bint Abu Bakr (R.A.) reported that:"Allah's Comforter did not fast in any month of the year more than he did to Shaban. He used to fast all Saban." (An-Nasai: 2180)

Our beloved Prophet (S.A.W.) used to fast every day during this month. This is the only fact that clearly states the beauty and significance of the month of Shabban. Shab e Barat is a night that many Muslims regard as a night of forgiveness, praying all night asking Allah for His blessings.

SHABE BARAT ACCORDING TO HADITH:

First, neither the Sahih Hadiths nor the verses of the Quran explicitly point to or mention the significance of the night. However, especially in South Asia, many people celebrate the night, spending time in worship of Allah. However, there are some Diyaif Hadiths that talk about the significance and personality of this night.

Aishah (R.A.) related:"… (SAW) said:" Truly Allah, Mighty and Under Him, descended into the lowest skies in the middle of the night during Shaban, in order to save more than the number of hairs in the (Banu) vines. Calb. '"(Tirmid: 739)

In another Hadith it was reported by Aishah (R.A.) that the Prophet (S.A.W.) spent the night in the middle of Shaban with a broad prayer that he thought he was dead. (Al-Bayhaqi and Al-Tabarani).

SHABE BARAT ACCORDING TO SCOLLARS :

According to Imam Al-Shafi'ee:

“There are five nights when the invocation (Duas) was received by Allah. This is (1) Friday night, (2) The night before Eid-ul-Fitr, (3) The night before Eid-ul-Adha, (4) The first night of Rajab and (5) The night of Nuff Shaban. ”

According to Imam Malik:

“There are four nights when the gates of righteousness are opened, (1) The night before Eid-ul-Fitr, (2) The night before Eid-ul-Adha, (3) The night of Arafat (9th Dhul Hijjah during Hajj) and (5 ) Night Shaban Night. "

HAZRAT ALI(R.A) NARRATION:

The hadith put forward by this school of thought is narrated by Hazrat Ali (RA) in which he stated that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:

“If it is the fifteenth night of Shabban, keep the prayer at midnight and keep up at once; for Allah descends to the heavens of the earth as the sun goes down and says: Is there anyone who will ask forgiveness for my forgiveness? Would anyone want to be fed to help? Is anyone in trouble for my release? And so on and on, until dawn. ”(Ibn Majah)

From this Hadith it is assumed that a Muslim should celebrate the 15th day of Shabban as a night full of blessings when Allah Almighty comes to the skies of the earth and throughout the night He continues to ask mankind to turn to Him and ask Him for things so that He can give them whatever they desire and want in life.

GETTING ON 15 SHABAN:

There is no authentic Hadith about keeping yourself fast and clear on the 15th day of Shaban. As mentioned above that the Prophet (S.A.W.) used to fast every month. So the 15th Shaban cannot be called to fast.

CELEBRATION  OF SABAB E BARAT:

Different areas have different ways of celebrating shab e barat. People tend to hand out sweets to each other tonight. Some people even celebrate the night with fireworks although this is a result of local cultural influence and has no religious significance and some scholars are called Bidah (Innovation in religion). In Iraq, people often distribute sweets to children. In South Asian countries, people distribute a local dish known as 'Haalwaa' or other delicious food to neighbors, friends, and the poor and needy peoples. Middle Eastern countries are traditionally celebrating the night. we all pray to Allah to protect us from currently on going Corona Virus and help scientists to build a vaccine for this virus Ameen .

Allah says, “We sent it (the Qur’an) down during a blessed night. We are truly warners. In that night is made distinct every affair of wisdom”
