Dr Firdous ashiq awan removed from her post as charge of corruption



Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has been removed from the Special Assistant for Information for alleged fraud.indpendent TV ARY News, sources citing, said the report had been submitted to the Prime Minister regarding Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, after which she was removed.

Sources said Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan abused her special powers as an aide and committed corruption. She has tried to get the 10% commission on government advertising to be released to the media.

Sources say Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan retains more staff than is required on state TV. She kept 9 staff including 2 guards without permission. She also ended up with 2 cars she refused.


It may be recalled that Special Information Assistant Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan was immediately removed from her post. She has been replaced by Senator Shibli Faraz as Information Minister and former DG ISPR Asim Saleem Bajwa as Special Assistant Information Officer.
